Spiess Construction Co., Inc. was first incorporated in 1977. Since then, the company has been providing its clients with the highest degree of accurate and reliable construction.
In the early years, a welded steel tank division was established. Our tank division has evolved into one of the premiere tank builders on the west coast. At the same time, we developed a range of work in the water treatment and the wastewater industry. We grew operations in all areas of the water and wastewater industries including large scale underground pipelines. We followed the changing times and economy, and operations were expanded. Construction licensing was obtained in Nevada in 1995 and Arizona in 1997.
In 2013, Spiess Construction Co., Inc. saw a beneficial opportunity for expansion into the state of Texas’ consistently growing Underground Utility Construction industry. Later that year, with the state of Colorado; then Oklahoma in 2014, New Mexico in 2019 and
Alaska in 2023..
Our Work
We work on a continuous variety of projects for municipal agencies and a few private projects including private water companies. The majority of our work is water and wastewater infrastructure and storage. However, for some of our projects their locality and our workforce has allowed us to work in other areas of construction. Our licensing, expertise and knowledge combined with knowledgeable subcontractors has given us the opportunity to perform concrete, painting, site, bridge, and paving projects.
For over four (4) decades, Spiess Construction Co., Inc. has developed and established working relationships with subcontractors. Most of our work is performed in the Public Works sector, and over the years, we have developed procedures to manage all elements from bid to closing documents on these projects. Our subcontractors, and even our suppliers have a thorough understanding of both the work and of the administrative requirements.
Our headquarters are in Orcutt, California with a Central Southwest regional office in El Paso Texas. Technology has allowed us a broader region of coverage with a complete business staff at the ready to handle the tasks associated with public works construction
